| FINDINGS: PREVIOUS RESEARCH
95.4% Chinese primary students use computer after school, and 5.9% of them are diagnosed with INTERNET ADDICTION.
Parents complain that internet use of their children will not only damage their health but also lower school performance. And many of them have had arguments with children about internet use and think it do harm to parent-children relationship.

Thus, we want to develop a design to encourage primary students reduce entertainment internet use after school, and improve parent-children relationship

" I feel boring when finishing homework, my parents always watch TV programs and do not play with me. However, PC games are really interesting. I love them ! In the game I play as a hero to save the world, it is my dream ! My parents dont understand the video games, they are biased "

" After work I am always really tired, thus when my son asked me to play with him outside, I rejected him, and required him play with himself. He started to play video games. Last week his teacher told me that he always not doing homework. Then I banned him playing PC games, and had arguments with him. He looks very upset these days and rejects to communicate with me. I am worried."

Zhen loves video games very much and spends more than 3 hours per day playing LOL, almost his full leisure time. For playing PC games, he is unwilling to do outside activities, and always stares at the screen more than 1 hour without break. This hobby does damage his health. Sometimes he will not do his homework, which finally lowers his school performance.
His parents had arguments with him, but he felt that, because they were too busy to play with him, thus he had to find a way to relax. Video games is the best choice.
31 years old
Long is zhen’s father. He is off work 6 pm and then has dinner with the family. He is a computer programmer so he always sits long on the seat, and feels uncomfortable after work. When at home, he wants to have a rest thus he likes watching TV sport programs. He loves sports, but feels do not have enough time to go to the gym or run outside.
Recently he noticed that, because he had ignored his son’s requirement of playing together, his son started to play video games and is a little addicted to the game. He yelled at his son, but found it just made their relationship in bad situation.

Based on previous research, stakeholder interviews and questionnaire surveys, we decide the major function of our product.

Game-like user experience design to attract young kids
Encourage users do in-home health sports when using product
We surveyed 500+ parents about in-home sport/health games, and found that 68.2% of them complained the experience price of the somatic game product such as XBOX. It inspired us to think: Could we design a simple DIY somatic game device for users? It means that we could provide users with cheap materials used to develop the device, and they could enjoy the DIY process.

We used triaxial accelerometer to collect vibration data in 3 directions at one time when doing different motions, and develop the model of every motion.
We coded with Arduino to display light and music of the device, identify human body movements and response accordingly.
